Rolling Chair

Introduction

The Rolling Chair is an evolution of the Tighten Table series, reimagining the traditional rocking chair through the cutting and manipulation of sheet aluminium. The design starts with a single sheet of aluminium, which is waterjet cut with a precisely calculated edge profile. When mechanically rolled, this profile forms an ideal rocking geometry. A separately cut seat pan is spot-welded to the outer shell, completing the final, rigid chair structure. The centre of gravity is meticulously calculated and applied to adjust the curve profile, ensuring the desired movement and stable resting position of the chair.
